Transfer Student Orientation, Advising & Registration (SOAR)
Are you a transfer student? Join us on August 22 for our Transfer Orientation event.
Welcoming transfer students to their new campus involves an online ‘Ike session covering registration and academic requirements and a Po‘okela Advising Workshop. You are strongly encouraged to participate both events prior to your first day of classes. Don’t forget your Student ID, which will allow you certain University privileges and benefits.
Registration for Transfer Students
Transfer students who have submitted their Intent to Enroll* may begin registering for courses shortly after current students register for the next semester. If you haven’t done so already, please submit your Intent to Enroll since your registration will depend on the completion of your transfer credit evaluation. This evaluation can take up to two weeks from receipt of the Intent to Enroll, so it’s important to turn it in as soon as possible. Transfer students will be able to view their credit evaluations in STAR GPS. Any holds on student accounts (e.g. health clearances, financial obligation, etc.) will also need to be cleared in order to register.
*Students admitted via the Automatic Admission process and who selected UH West O‘ahu as their campus on STAR GPS, do not need to submit an Intent to Enroll form.
Transfer ʻIke - Build your Online Knowledge
Transfer students are encouraged to participate in the ʻIke option consisting of a number of modules designed to help students understand and navigate the STAR GPS registration system, graduation and program requirements as well as campus policies.
Visit the Transfer Student Orientation page and complete all four ‘Ike modules and the survey.
Transfer Poʻokela - Build your Success Team
The Poʻokela workshop session is an opportunity for transfer students to meet key individuals who will contribute to the students’ first term experience.
Once registered, students will receive a Google Calendar invite to their UH email address within 24 hours of registering.
