Registration Errors

Below are registration errors that you may encounter and how to resolve it. If you received a registration error and it was resolved, please note that the error message will remain until you click on submit.

Registration Error	How to resolve the error
Campus Restriction	Enrollment may be limited to classified students in a certain site (e.g. Distance Education Program). Instructor or Department approval is required. Review the class comments on STAR GPS or Class Availability.
Class Restriction	Enrollment may be limited to students who have attained a certain class level, which is based on the total number of credits earned.
Closed Section	The course section is currently filled and there are no open seats. If available, you may add yourself to the waitlist.
Corequisite (Course Number) required	This course requires enrollment in another (corequisite) course at the same time. Both courses must be registered for (added or dropped) at the same time in STAR GPS.
Department Restriction	Enrollment may be limited to classified students in a certain department. Instructor or Department approval is required. Review the class comments on STAR GPS or Class Availability.
Duplicate Course with Section (Section Number)	You are already registered for another section of this course. If available, you may add yourself to the waitlist or select a different course.
Duplicate CRN	You are already registered for this course and section. Contact the Office of the Registrar for assistance.
Major Restriction	Enrollment may be limited to students who have declared a specific major. Instructor or Department approval is required. Review the class comments on STAR GPS or Class Availability.
Maximum hours exceeded	You have exceeded the credit limit. Students are limited to 19 credits per fall/spring semester and 12 credits for summer. College Success Advisor approval is required.
Mutual Exclusion	The course you are trying to register for has content that is considered too similar to a course you are currently enrolled in or have previously completed. Advising consent is required.
Prerequisite Error (PREQ)	You have not met certain prerequisites or your placement test scores do not allow you to register for this course. Contact your College Success Advisor for assistance.
Program Restriction	Enrollment may be limited to students who have a specific program. Instructor or Department approval is required. Review the class comments on STAR GPS or Class Availability.
Registration prohibited at this institution	Student ineligible based on home/secondary campus. Contact the Admissions Office for assistance.
Repeat count exceeds (Number)	You have previously completed this course at UH West O’ahu or at another institution. Advising consent is required.
Student Status prohibits registration	You are not currently eligible to register for courses at UH West Oʻahu. Contact the Admissions Office for assistance.
Time conflict with CRN (Number)	You are trying to register for a course that has a time conflict with another course that you are enrolled in. If you wish to enroll in both courses, Instructor approval is required.
Course is not available for registration at this time	This course has been cancelled for the semester.
We apologize based on your filter there are no open classes available that meet your requirement	You have entered an invalid Course Reference Number (CRN). Please refer to the Class Availability page.
The “ADD” period has not started or is over (which will prevent you from registering for the class)	Check your registration date/time located above the Register-Add/Drop Classes button in STAR GPS or the Registration Timetable.
