Campus Security
The UH West Oʻahu Campus Security Department is firmly committed to ensuring a safe and secure campus environment for people and their property at the UH West Oʻahu campus within the constraints of federal, state, local laws, and university policies. The members of the Campus Security Department are committed to providing high-quality public safety services with a strong emphasis on customer service.
Emergency Management
Emergency Management is a key function to the safety and security of any campus. UH West Oʻahu approaches emergency preparedness by addressing the five mission areas of prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery. Our Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) is a comprehensive plan that addresses these five mission areas and prepares our campus to effectively manage critical incidents.
Emergency Information
In the event of an emergency, UH West Oʻahu will provide information about the nature of the incident, how to remain safe, and when status has returned to normal. When appropriate, the University will alert faculty, staff and students via email and/or UH Alert. UH West Oʻahu‘s official social media accounts such as Facebook and Twitter may be used as well.
Annual Security Report
The UH West Oʻahu Annual Security Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on-campus, property owned or controlled by the UH West Oʻahu, and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies concerning sexual assault, and other matters. You may obtain a copy of this report by contacting Campus Security at (808) 689-2911 or by visiting the Campus Security office located in room 201 of the Maintenance/Mechanical Building.
Compliance
UH West Oʻahu exists so that the people it serves have learning and enrichment opportunities to improve their quality of life and their standard of living. UH West Oʻahu supports a positive educational environment that will benefit student success.
Student Conduct
UH West Oʻahu has established a Student Code of Conduct (“Student Code”) to ensure the protection of student rights and the health and safety of the UH West Oʻahu community, as well as to support the efficient operation of UH West Oʻahu programs.
