What is Star Degree Check?
Students are ultimately responsible for ensuring they are on the right path in fulfilling their graduation requirements. To facilitate this process, students may use the STAR Degree Check, which allows students to monitor their general education, focus, major, concentration, credit, and grade point average requirements. STAR also provides advising information on courses that can be utilized to fulfill a requirement and advising comments from advisors and faculty advisors. The STAR Degree Check can be accessed through MyUH.
Students thinking of switching majors or are pursuing more than two programs may use the “What If” function to see what requirements are needed for these programs. Students may also use STAR to view and print customized reports of courses taken within the UH system as well as create an academic plan. Please note that STAR is an advising tool that allows students to manage their academic course work, but should not be considered a substitute for meeting with academic advisors and faculty advisors.
