Statement of Gratitude: At times, our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us. –Albert Schweitzer

Update COVID-19

At this time, we have not determined that vaccinations will be mandated for Fall 2021 for students returning to campus. That said, we are assessing where students may be required to be vaccinated as a condition to participating in certain activities, such as living in on-campus residence halls and participating in athletics, with limited exceptions for medical or religious reasons.  We would strongly encourage all students and employees to be fully vaccinated prior to Fall 2021 if they want to fully participate in in-person activities, classes or work.

Update on Gradual Reopening of UH West Oʻahu Campus

The UH System is currently reviewing how and when our campuses will reopen to the public. As you know our campus is open to all faculty, staff, students, and invited guests (contractors and vendors). Should you have any thoughts on reopening please send them to uhwochan@hawaii.edu.

Update on our Campus Work Groups

The co-facilitators of the four work groups report that current efforts have been focused on developing and/or supporting the development of “action proposals” for HEERF II funding. Other non-cost “action proposals” are currently on hold.

Update on Federal Stimulus Funds

The current public-facing website is currently being revised, however, you can still learn more about our campus efforts by going to this page. It is important to keep in mind that as a recipient of the federal stimulus funds (CARES/Heerf I, CRRSAA/HEERF II, and ARPA), we are required to present particular information that explains our procedures and expenditures. We do follow templated (per our grant agreement) information. We are currently expanding the site to provide more transparent information about our funding from our UHWO Federal Funding Advisory Council.

For more information on federal regulations we invite you to go to these sites:
