First-Year Student Orientation, Advising and Registration (SOAR)
UH West Oʻahu‘s Student Orientation, Advising and Registration (SOAR) is designed to help you make a successful transition to college. You’ll be able to connect with your future classmates, discover the services available to help you succeed, and explore opportunities to get involved in as a Pueo.

Pre-Registration Online Modules
New students are required to complete Pre-Registration Modules consisting of a series of informational videos which are designed to help students understand and navigate the STAR GPS Registration system, Graduation and Program Requirements, as well as advising tips on selecting classes. The final module will require students to sign up for a Registration Session and Lā Pūnua Orientation. Successful completion of all the modules will allow students to receive a 6-digit PIN number to register for classes.
Next Steps
- Visit the First Year Student Orientation page and complete all four ‘Ike modules and the survey.
- Receive access to the PIN screen after completing steps 1 through 3. PIN will be used to input in STAR within 24 hours to register for classes before August. Note the PIN down.
- Head to STAR GPS to register for your first semester. Registration for incoming first-year students opens on Monday, November 18, 2024 and you will be assisted with registration for classes at the Registration Session you sign up for.
