While most of our classes are temporarily online, it is important that you remain vigilant, keeping yourself and your ʻohana healthy and safe! Stay up to date on campus announcements and information, and if you have a concern or query please reach out to your Vice Chancellor. As you know, we will resume our in-person and hybrid courses on Monday, Jan. 31. Please see the announcement sent by UH System President Lassner.
This week, we have a brief bulletin. Scroll down for COVID-19 reminders. Just three important announcements. First, I wanted to share with you an article in Hawaii Business Magazine that highlights UH West Oʻahu’s efforts to prepare tomorrow’s workforce.
Second, I would like to invite you to visit the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s traveling exhibit, Americans and the Holocaust, on the second floor of our James & Abigail Campbell Library, Jan. 28 – March 9, 2022. Only 50 libraries across the U.S. were selected to show the exhibit. Through the hard work of librarians, Alphie Garcia and Carina Chernisky, we were selected to show the exhibit in Hawaiʻi. It is informative and moving!
Finally, at this past UH Board of Regents meeting (Thursday, Jan. 20) UH System President Lassner presented an overview on how UH will be moving forward in response to the impacts of the pandemic on our campuses. The slide deck, Reimagining and Repositioning the University of Hawaiʻi: Navigating together to a Sustainable Future for UH and Hawaiʻi, and the presentation can be accessed at the BOR website. Embedded in the presentation (starting on page 1957), campuses present a high-level overview their efforts.

The most recent version of the System’s UH COVID-19 Guidelines is now live. You can also access UH West Oʻahu guidelines, which were updated for the spring 2022 semester.
Reminder about coming to campus: Students, employees, and visitors must download LumiSight UH to your smartphone. Register and upload all relevant COVID-19 information. Prior to coming to campus please check-in using your LumiSight UH and respond to all health questions. BE PREPARED TO SHOW YOUR “GO GREEN” SCREEN at our campus verification stations. If for some reason you forgot to sign-in, please do so before entering campus or see our friendly student assistants at any of the verification sites. They will assist you with signing in or getting a day pass. NOTE: you must have proof of COVID vaccination or negative COVID test to retrieve a day pass.
Mahalo nūnui for taking the time to review this week’s bulletin.
