Noʻeau Center Rules
These rules apply in the physical Noʻeau Center, on the phone, and online. The Noʻeau Center reserves the right to refuse service or amend or modify tutor assignments to anyone not following the Noʻeau Center’s posted rules. Failure to comply with these rules may result in a temporary ban from the Noʻeau Center. Students who have been banned from the Noʻeau Center will be reported to the Student Affairs Division – Student Conduct Office. Temporary bans from the Noʻeau Center will remain in place until a permanent resolution under the University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu Student Code of Conduct process and/or the Noʻeau Center has been determined.
Noʻeau Center Rules
The Noʻeau Center’s role is to assist students in academics but it’s everyone’s job to keep our learning environment positive. Tutors provide academic feedback (and do not give answers or write papers for students); staff members ensure the Noʻeau Center’s operations run efficiently and effectively; and students using the Noʻeau Center should be respectful to staff and others in the Noʻeau Center.
Space and equipment are valuable commodities. Respect what we have, however limited the resources may be, so everyone can use them.
All students must adhere to the Student Code of Conduct. Prohibited behaviors include academic dishonesty (cheating and plagiarism); disruption of teaching, tutoring, learning, operations, and other UH West Oʻahu activities; threats; harassment; violation of a center’s or department’s rules or policies; and failure to follow the directions of a college official. Sanctions for violations of the Student Code of Conduct range from a written warning to expulsion from the University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu.
