Weekly Patch and Update Summary for Week of June 3, 2016

For all patches and updates listed below please use the appropriate updating methods for your system.  It is advised that you patch and update your system as soon as possible.

Cisco

Cisco has released security updates to address vulnerabilities in its Prime Network Analysis Module software.   These vulnerabilities may allow a remote attacker to gain control of a system.

Lenovo

Lenovo has issued a security advisory to address a vulnerability in the Accelerator Application software.  Affected products include the Lenovo notebook and desktop systems preloaded with the Windows 10 operating systems.  This vulnerability may allow a remote attack to gain control of a system.  Lenovo has provided a Security Advisor with information on how to mitigate the vulnerability.  It is recommended that users and administrators apply the suggested strategies for their systems.

Google

Google has released Chrome version 51.0.2704.79.  This addresses multiple vulnerabilities for Windows, Mac and Linux systems.  These vulnerabilities may allow a remote attacker to gain control of a system.  Please see Chrome Releases for more information.

NTP

The Network Time Foundation’s NTP Project has released version ntp-4.2.8p8.  This addresses multiple vulnerabilities in ntpd.  These vulnerabilities may allow a remote attacker to gain control of a system.  For more information on the vulnerabilities please read VU#321640 and the NTP Security Notice Page.

Ubuntu

Canonical has released many security updates for their operating system Ubuntu.  For more information please see Ubuntu Security Notices.
