Cybersecurity
The Cybersecurity, Cyber Operations concentration program expands on a student’s foundation in mathematics, science, computer science, and cybersecurity by delving into advanced technical topics. These include defensive and proactive cybersecurity strategies, industrial control systems security, cyber investigations, threat detection and response, as well as communications and wireless technologies.
Graduates are equipped with a comprehensive skill set that enables them to tackle the latest cybersecurity threats effectively. By integrating their foundational knowledge with advanced technical expertise, they can address complex challenges and implement holistic solutions in the ever-evolving field of cybersecurity.
Information Security and Assurance
The Information Security and Assurance program offers students a comprehensive foundation in cybersecurity, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to address the challenges of their chosen fields. This flexible program enables students to enhance their education by taking additional courses in business, public administration, or health, tailoring their learning to align with their career interests.
Cybersecurity plays a vital role in safeguarding the information essential to the success and integrity of these industries. Through this program, students gain an in-depth understanding of their target industry while learning to protect the critical information that supports its operations. This dual focus ensures graduates are well-prepared to meet the unique security needs of their chosen sectors.
Information Technology
The Information Technology program equips students with the skills needed to design, develop, deploy, and maintain modern business computer systems and applications. With the addition of a solid business foundation, students also gain expertise in applying general management principles, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills within a technical environment.
This degree is tailored for students who have completed an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, including graduates of the AS in IT program from Kapiʻolani Community College.
