Cybersecurity Coordination Center

The purpose of the UHWO Cyber Security Coordination Center (CSCC) is to provide Information Technology and Security students with an opportunity to work in a cyber operations center and coordinate cyber defense information with local and regional partners. This center provides students with research experience as network defense subject matter experts in order to prepare them for future employment in the federal government, state government, or industry. This center also supports information security needs in the community and region by acting as a resource supporting research in modern cyber conflicts and emerging cyber threats.

Cybersecurity Research Lab

The UH West O`ahu Cyber Security Research Laboratory (CSRL) is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Cyber Scholarship Program (CySP) grant funded initiative established to provide students with unique opportunities to combine cyber security education and skills to promote the exploration and development of advanced knowledge and capabilities in an applied research environment.

The CSRL provides internship opportunities where students participate in faculty guided applied analysis and research related to the understanding and improvement of security and resiliency for critical information infrastructures and systems at the local, regional, and national level. The CSRL coordinates with the UH West O`ahu Cyber Security Coordination Center (CSCC) with cybersecurity research, analysis, and outreach initiatives.

Cyber Force One

As a student organization at the University of Hawai’i – West O’ahu, our mission is to empower fellow students through increased awareness and comprehensive education in cybersecurity principles and practices. We provide valuable opportunities to develop technical skills through engaging workshops, competitive events, and collaborative projects. By building a strong community of students who share an interest in cybersecurity, we foster networking, resource sharing, and the exploration of future career opportunities within this dynamic field. In all our endeavors, we actively support the University’s broader mission to cultivate innovation and enhance the learning environment for all students.

Red Team Club

Red Team at UH West Oahu is a student club that supports cybersecurity education as part of the University of Hawaii at West Oahu designation as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CDE) by the National Security Agency (NSA) and U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Students research and explore modern cyber issues, prepare and participate in cyber competitions, and prepare to serve as Cyber Red Teams in support of cyber training exercises and events.
