Technology at the Library
Technology at the Library
Print, Scan, and Copy
All Info Commons computers can print to the two pay-for-print copiers in the library.
- IC Copier 01 – 1st floor – BW or Color
- IC Copier 02 – 1st floor – BW only
You will need to purchase a copy card from the Circulation Desk (cash only). The copy cards come pre-loaded with funds – you can choose to purchase a $1, $2, $5, or $10 copy card. BW printing costs $0.10 per page and Color printing costs $0.20 per page.
Scan
The Library has a KIC Scanner, which is located on the first floor, near Table 3. Incredibly self-explanatory and user-friendly, the KIC scanner is capable of scanning using both the flatbed and the document feeder that is located to the left of the machine. Scans can be saved to a USB or emailed to yourself.
Both of the printers in the Library also serve as scanners, which you can then send to email.
Copy
Both of the printers in the Library double as copy machines. You will need a print card to make copies. Like normal printouts, BW copies cost $0.10 per page and Color copies cost $0.20 per page.
Loanable Technology
Semester Loans – Laptops, iPads, Hotspots
UHWO students can borrow a Chromebook, Dell, Macbook, or iPad PLUS a hotspot for long-term use. To borrow one of these devices, bring a picture ID to the Circulation Desk. These devices are generally loaned out for the duration of the current semester, and borrowers must complete and sign a borrower agreement form. We encourage students to visit us the first week of classes to ensure they’ll have the technology they need for the rest of the semester.
Short-Term Loans – Other Technology
UHWO students can make use of other loanable technology, listed below:
- Adapters, 4 hour loan period
- DVD Drives, 7 day loan period
- Graphing Calculators, 4 hour loan period
- Headphones, 4 hour loan period
- Headsets with Mics, 4 hour loan period
- HDMI Cords, 4 hour loan period
Software on our Desktop Computers
The Campbell Library makes available a wide variety of useful software applications for our patrons to use on our 24 computers, all located in our first floor InfoCommons. Application types range from general productivity software (e.g. word-processing and spreadsheet software) to very specialized multimedia content creation and editing packages, as well as accessibility software for our patrons.

DVD and VCR Player
Located on our second floor, on the Diamond Head side of the building, is a DVD/VCR player combo, which can play either a DVD or a VHS tape. Accompanying the device is a small screen, through which you can see the contents of the DVD and VHS. Headphones are required during use; UHWO students can borrow one from the Circulation Desk.
Outlets
The Library contains several spaces with electrical outlets available for student use. On the first floor, along the windows, each alcove should have at least one outlet. On the second floor, in the InfoCommons which consists of a few large tables, each table has two power strip towers that have 9 outlets and 4 usb ports. Also, along the balcony seats on the second floor, each alcove contains at least one outlet. Additionally there are several outlets interspersed on the second floor perimeter walls, where various seating options can be found.
