Visit the Kānehūnāmoku exhibit on the first floor of the library now through the end of June 2024. Kānehūnāmoku is a collection of photographs and paintings by cultural photographer, Jan Becket, and artist, Dawn Yoshimura, focusing on a small section of Waiʻanae moku from Kepuhi Point to Kaʻena. The purpose of the exhibit is for viewers to recognize the waiwai (value, richness) of wahi pana in this area and why it should be protected and preserved. The exhibit also advocates for the importance of open spaces on Oʻahu at a time when development is quickly overtaking the island.

Learn more about the exhibit and talk story with Dawn Yoshimura and Uncle Glen Kila (Koa ʻIke Foundation) about the pieces and wahi pana o Waiʻanae on Monday, April 8, 12 PM – 2 PM, on the first floor of the library.
