Oceans cover more than two thirds of the surface of the Earth and they are vital to the wellbeing of our planet. World Oceans Day is observed every year on June 8th. This year’s theme, Innovation for a Sustainable Ocean, provides us with an opportunity to acknowledge the need to care for our oceans and the reasons why we must protect them.
