How to use UHWO WiFi without logging in?
By uhwoapps on July 2, 2025
Wireless passthrough is a service that allows you to bypass the wireless login screen by registering your device with the campus WiFi. You will need to provide the MAC address of your device. It is available to all students, faculty, and staff within the UH system. Once a year, you will receive an email requesting that you re-register your device(s) in the wireless passthrough system. If you do not re-register your device(s), you will need to log in every time that you use the UHWO WiFi.
Important: Some devices (such as newer phones, tablets, and laptops) use rotating or random MAC addresses as a privacy feature. If your device is using a rotating MAC address, you will need to disable this feature (or switch it to the device’s actual/hardware MAC address) to ensure a successful wireless pass-through registration. Visit Disable Android, iOS, and macOS 15 MAC Address Randomization to learn how to turn off random MAC addresses.
To register your device(s):
- Go to http://www.hawaii.edu/wireless/pt
- Click on the Login link.
- Enter the MAC Address of your device.
- Click on the dropdown and select the appropriate device type.
- Enter a Device Description.
- Click on the Add button.
Once the device is registered, it will automatically bypass the wireless login screen.
