A new interactive exhibit that examines concepts of health and medicine among contemporary Native Hawaiians, American Indians, and Alaska Natives is on display in the UH West Oʻahu Library until December 11. Native Voices: Native Peoples’ Concepts of Health and Illness, is sponsored by the U.S. National Library of Medicine, the world’s largest biomedical library, located on the campus of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md. The exhibit features more than 100 interviews with tribal leaders, healers, educators and others, and was recently featured in the August 19 MidWeek article, “UH West Oʻahu to house traveling interactive exhibit.”
