Mandy Quitog, an Academy for Creative Media student, is the winner of the fourth annual “West is Best” T-shirt contest, with her design being printed and sold at the UH West Oʻahu Bookstore.

Quitog, a senior who will graduated with a Bachelors of Applied Science in Creative Media, received a $100 gift card from the bookstore. Winners also get to see their shirt worn around campus.

The Waiʻanae High School graduate said her design was inspired by organic shapes and was created with the thought that the typography should be fun and bold at the same time.

“I wanted to create a lot of curves and lines together and came up with this design,” said Quitog, who drew the design freehand. “I really wanted to create a design that was generally fun to wear and also to wear proudly to represent being a University of Hawaiʻi-West Oʻahu student.”

The shirts are available at the bookstore for $10 for those who have a student ID; their regular price is $14. Since winning, Mandy came in to get more shirts for her family and friends so they can wear it proudly as well.
