UH West Oʻahu students interested in the unique opportunity to intern with legislators in both the Hawaiʻi State House of Representatives and the Senate through the Hawaiʻi State Legislative Internship Program must apply by Monday, Oct. 17.

“Through the internship I was able to have real world experiences that encourage you to grow past your limits. In this internship you are treated as an actual session hire and are given the full amount of responsibilities, comparable to staff who were already college graduates,” said UHWO student Isaiah Baclaan, who participated in the internship in 2016.

The Hawaiʻi State Legislative Internship Program is open to UH West Oʻahu students only. To apply, visit http://uhwocareers.weebly.com/hawaii-state-legislative-internship.html. Interns gain insight into the legislative process while working an average of 40 hours a week assisting a senator or representative. The program runs from January through May 2017. Interns will get paid for work and receive money covering the full cost of spring 2017 tuition while earning 12 academic credits.
