UH West Oʻahu begins construction of PV system

On ground PV system

Ground-mounted photovoltaic array system.

Construction began on the UH West Oʻahu photovoltaic (PV) system on Monday, June 20. The 500 kilowatt array will consist of photovoltaic panels installed as a ground-mounted rack system. Located south of the Maintenance Building, the system will span more than 1.5 acres and is designed to provide power to all five buildings of the UH West Oʻahu campus. Betsill Brothers of Maui is constructing the UH West Oʻahu PV system that aims to reduce 10-15% of the campus’ total electrical consumption. The project is scheduled for completion in February 2017.*
