Students encouraged to serve as PUEO Leaders, apply by April 6

If youʻre a University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu student wanting to develop leadership skills while serving your community, then apply to become a PUEO (Peer Undergraduate Engagement and Orientation) Leader for the 2020-2021 school year. The online application deadline is on Monday, April 6.

Highly motivated and successful UH West Oʻahu students who are interested in helping first-year and transfer students throughout the summer and school year are encouraged to apply.

As PUEO Leaders, students would be involved with the following areas:

  • assisting with New Student Orientations (Poʻokela) in July
  • assisting with La Punua (new/transfer student event) in August
  • connecting with your mentees throughout the summer and the 2020-2021 school year through weekly communications and monthly events

Training/support will be provided in the following formats:

  • three-day camp to meet and build connections with other fellow student leaders (May)
  • summer training course to reflect, learn, and build on leadership skills (late May-July)
  • support from program team and advisors throughout the 2020-2021 school year

Student leaders will be paid a stipend for the Summer 2020, Fall 2020, and Spring 2021 semester for their service and involvement.
