Start a conversation with a word cloud

Three students look at their cell phones with a word cloud overhead.

A word cloud is a visual collection of text data with frequently occurring words appearing larger and bolder within a random cluster. Word clouds can be used to open a discussion, gather opinions, check for understanding, or prompt reflection.

Slido, a word cloud generator, can be integrated into Google Slides with an add-on. Slido for Google Slides allows you to insert live interactions directly into your slide deck. As a presenter, you can spur engagement without clicking away from your slides.

Students scan the QR code on the interaction slide with a cell phone. They can then anonymously add words, short phrases, or emojis to word clouds or engage with other interactive question types.
