Send online articles and local PDFs to Kindle

Kindle, a free e-reader app, can be downloaded to your PC or Mac.  No proprietary tablet is required to enjoy a custom Kindle reading experience. Change font size, color mode, and column layout to your preferences. Listen to text read aloud. Highlight text and add notes. For content review, create flashcards from highlighted text.

In addition to adding digital books to a Kindle library, users can send local PDFs and online articles to the app. For example, the Postlight Reader browser tool, available as a Chrome extension and Firefox add-on, removes advertising from webpages and allows readers to Send to Kindle with a button click.

To set up your Kindle permissions, go to your Amazon account and Manage Your Content and Devices. Under Preferences, find Personal Document Settings. Add mercury-kindle@postlight.com to Approved Personal Document E-mail List to authorize selected online articles to be emailed to your Kindle apps. Check that Device Synchronization is on.

And sync to a smartphone app for convenient access to content across devices.
