Remix art with Google AI

Dogs and soap bubbles under a rainbow in the style of painter Caspar David Friedrich.
A goo.gle/ArtRemix inspired by an oil painting by Caspar David Friedrich

Google Arts & Culture is an online space that holds numerous partner art collections like Getty Images and The Met. The site’s Explore and Play tabs offer new ways for people to interact with art images. Among the experiments created by artists and coders is Art Remix. Select an artwork and replace visual components with new elements of your choosing. Your text prompts transform classic works of art to newly imagined digital images after a few pixelated moments. In the example above, dogs, soap bubbles, and a rainbow are rendered in the gloomy style of Caspar David Friedrich.

Consider an ArtRemix activity for a breakout room icebreaker, to lighten the mood with a game (think Mad Libs), or to spur in-class creativity.
