D2L Acquires H5P

Earlier this month, D2L, parent company of Brightspace (aka Lamakū), announced the purchase of H5P Group at the annual Fusion conference, D2L all in on H5P. 

H5P is a plugin tool to produce and play interactive learning content within an LMS, a Pressbook, or WordPress site. H5P can create drag-and-drop activities, interactive videos, crossword puzzles, memory games, flashcards and more. Those who have built H5P content can expect a strong integration between the authoring tool and UH’s new LMS, Lamakū. 

For several years, the University of Hawaiʻi Online Innovation Center (UHOIC) has supported faculty exploration of H5P to develop engaging learning activities for online students.
