Chrome and Firefox offer uncluttered reader views

For many, reading online is a Herculean task requiring intense focus to block out flashing ads—left, right and center. Fortunately, both Chrome and Firefox browsers offer simplified reading modes to combat reader distraction and fatigue.
Chrome users have the option of adding the Postlight Reader extension available through the Chrome Web Store. The extension removes ads and boosts font size to support online reading as well as printing of articles. Postlight Reader also features Send To Kindle functionality.
Another Chrome extension, Reader Mode, deletes unwanted elements and customizes the user’s reading preferences. The extension offers dyslexia-friendly fonts and text-to-speech conversion.
Firefox users can toggle on Reader View with a keyboard shortcut: Command + Option + R. A floating toolbar will appear with font sizing and listening options. Readers have the option to save articles to Pocket for later reading.
