Aloha, Jamboard

Figjam Whiteboard

Google is discontinuing the Jamboard app. Jamboards will become read-only as of October 2024, and the app will go offline on December 1, 2024. Those with lesson content built into Jamboard will need to transition to another digital whiteboard.

Alternatives include FigJam (bundled whiteboard and wireframe tools), LucidSpark (a chart, diagram, and whiteboard tool), or Miro (a virtual whiteboard with AI features). LucidSpark and Miro are UH ITS-approved instructional third-party online tools and offer free accounts with a limited number of boards and features.

FigJam is included in the free Figma Education plan for higher ed students and educators who complete the email verification process. The plan offers unlimited files, projects, and shareable team libraries. FigJam and LucidChart are also building import functionality to allow the migration of existing Jamboards.
