During Mahina ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian Language Month) ODEL invited Kumu Hema, a UH West Oʻahu graduate and Hawaiian immersion teacher, to present the 3-part series, Enhancing Hawaiian Cultural Competency

Kumu Hema emphasizes finding paths that lead to the surrounding community and ʻāina to enliven learners. The recorded sessions offer a plethora of resources and ideas to bring local knowledge and Hawaiian language to your course.
