Add QR Codes to social media; readers open with mobile devices

Have you noticed more QR codes in social media posts? Recent smartphone and tablet updates allow users to open online QR Codes without an external app. Users can take a screenshot from their social feed and open the code in their phone’s photo gallery. 

For iOS devices: See Use Live Text to get information from photos and images and follow these steps:

1. Open the screenshot in your photo gallery.

2. Click the live text detection symbol (bottom right corner).

3. Or press the pictured QR Code and follow the prompt.

For Android devices: Set up Google Assistant on your device and follow these steps:

1. Open your camera.

2. Open your phone’s Google Assistant mode by holding down the home button. 

3. Select the QR Code from the photo gallery.

4. The QR Code will auto scan. Follow the prompt.
