Our Commitment to Student Learning

Improving student learning and program quality through assessment

The goal of assessment at UH West O‘ahu is to improve student learning and program quality through an iterative process of planning, evidence, analysis, reevaluation and communication.

UH West Oʻahu Assessment is a part of a broader UH System Assessment group that manages the development and implementation of a comprehensive program of assessment for the purpose of institutional improvements in accordance with accreditation requirements in support of institutional effectiveness.  As assessment practitioners and advocates, the members of the UH System Assessment Coordinators’ Group are dedicated to supporting student learning success through assessment practices that strengthen teaching and academic services in order to positively impact student learning and the learning environment.  A University of Hawai‘i System Assessment Coordinator’s Principles Statement has been created to provide additional information in support of the UH System Assessment Coordinators’ Group approach.
