Learning Outcomes

To assure educational quality and curricular coherence, UH West O‘ahu has identified standards appropriate for Natural Science students. Students at UH West O‘ahu are expected to apply certain educational skills towards mastering material in an academic major and concentration. These skills are listed in a set of Degree and Concentration Learning Outcomes.

Degree Learning Outcomes

Graduates with a major in Natural Science (NSCI) from UH West O‘ahu will be able to:

  • DL01 – To communicate scientific ideas clearly in written and oral formats.
  • DL02 – To explain how to find, read, and critically review scientific literature.
  • DL03 – To analyze data effectively using current methods and technology.
  • DL04 – To apply fundamental concepts and techniques in mathematics and sciences.
