Pueo Leadership

What Does it Mean to be a PUEO Mentor?
The PUEO (Peer Undergraduate Engagement and Orientation) Leadership Program is a peer mentor program dedicated to helping new students adjust to the social, personal, and academic aspects of college life. New students are connected with a support group of fellow students as well as PUEO Leaders: experienced, positive, and helpful current UH West Oʻahu students who offer attention and guidance.
Additionally, here are some of the responsibilities of becoming a Peer Mentor:
- Coordinate and invite freshmen and transfer students to activities on and off campus, offering opportunities to meet other students and make new friends.
- Stay in contact with mentees (face-to-face, one-on-one or in a group, as well as via email, text or Facebook) providing information about academic resources, personal resources, university policies, and reminding them of important deadlines.
- Share knowledge and experience about how to be a successful college student.
