University of Hawaii  – West Oʻahu came in at No. 10 in The Best Colleges.org’s “10 Biggest Public University Bargains for 2018.”

Using data from the U.S. Department of Education, The Best Colleges.org gathered data on in-state tuition costs and fees and determined UH West Oʻahu was 10th best.

“While Hawaiʻi is a state known for its relatively high cost of living, once financial aid is taken into account, students at the University of Hawaiʻi – West Oʻahu only pay an average of $7,820 for tuition, room, board, and books. Roughly 48 percent of students qualify for some form of financial aid as well,” the website noted.

Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina topped the ranking given its average costs and the amount of financial aid that is offered. No other Hawaiʻi schools were in the top 10.
