Emerging Leadership award to be given by Office of Student Life

Fall 2016 Pueo Awards

A new student award recognizing demonstrated leadership potential in serving the needs of other students will be conferred by the Office of Student Life later this month during the Pueo Awards Ceremony and Reception.

Applicants for the new Emerging Leadership Award cannot be graduating in the 2017-18 academic year (applicants must have sophomore and/or junior-standing credits). Other application requirements including having served at least two semesters in a student leadership capacity in a UHWO Chartered Student Organization (CSO), or a current Registered Independent Student Organization (RISO).

Another award, Fall 2017 Student Service and Leadership Distinction Award, will be given in two categories. One of the awards is for campus-wide contribution, with applicant requirements including serving at least two semesters in a student leadership capacity; served in more than one student organization or co-curricular program over the course of his or her college career.

For the other category, program/co-curricular specific, applicants must have served at least two semesters in a student leadership capacity in a CSO or a RISO.

The deadline for applications is noon, Wednesday Nov. 22 in the Office of Student Life (C215) within the Campus Center Student Lounge.  Award recipients will be recognized at the Pueo Awards Ceremony and Reception 5:30-7:30 Thursday, Nov. 30 in C208.
