Pili ʻĀina registration deadline is Aug. 10

UH West Oʻahu faculty and staff visit Kaʻala Farms in Waiʻanae during Pili ʻĀina in August 2015.

Pili ʻĀina, a unique professional development experience for UH West Oʻahu faculty and staff, is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 17.

Registration is now open for the learning experience that brings faculty and staff together to hear about the moku (district) and ahupuaʻa in which the campus resides.  Attendees will:

  • Learn about traditional moʻolelo (stories) from ʻEwa and Honouliuli
  • Visit culturally and historically important places in the area
  • Discuss how to better serve students by integrating these experiences into our work
  • Get to know new and returning faculty and staff while learning, working and eating together
