UH West Oʻahu students, faculty, staff, and administrators held a traditional awa ceremony for Dr. Maenette Benham to welcome her in her new role as chancellor at Paʻa Ke Kahua – a welcoming and awa ceremony that actively recognized UHWO’s perpetuation of Hawaiian language, history, and culture, on Jan. 3.
