The Center for Labor Education and Research is offering for-credit courses to students at UH West Oʻahu for the first time. These hybrid courses will be offered 75% online, with three face-to-face sessions at the beginning of the semester, mid-semester, and end of the semester during the spring 2017 semester.
LBST 100: Introduction to Labor Studies carries an Oral (O) Focus Designation. Introduction to Labor Studies is a survey course providing the basic concepts, theories, and skills for analyzing labor in society, and the conditions of work from a labor perspective.
LBST 200: Hawaiʻi Labor History, Media & Film carries both and Oral (O) and Ethics (E) Focus Designation. In this course, Hawaiʻi Labor History, and the political, social, economic, and cultural effects of media are examined to understand their impact on perspectives of labor.
