‘O Lono ‘Oe Makahiki Festival
Learn more about the Hawaiian culture surrounding the Makahiki season by participating in cultural activities and demonstrations on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Great Lawn.
Students, faculty, staff, and the community are encouraged to attend.
Makahiki games are divided into adult and children age groups. The child age group divisions are pre- K, grade 1, grades 2-5, grades 6-8. Competitors can pre-register or register the day of the event by emailing Haunani Haia (hhaia@hawaii.edu).
This event is sponsored by the UHWO Hawaiian-Pacific Studies Program, USDOE Building & Bridging Native Hawaiian Futures Title III Grant, and the John A. Burns School of Medicine.
