In celebration of UH West Oʻahu’s 40th anniversary, the Chancellor’s Office is putting together a list of the 40 most memorable moments and accomplishments in the University’s 40-year history. This distinguished list is a sampling of the accomplishments, people, and events that reflect UH West Oʻahu values of aloha aku, aloha mai (diversity); laulima (collaboration); ʻimi naʻauao (teaching excellence); and malama a hoʻomau (stewardship). All UH West Oʻahu faculty and staff are invited to contribute ideas to be included as part of the “Forty for 40” list. The selection criteria used in the evaluation process include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrated support of diversity, especially Native Hawaiian culture
  • Demonstrated support of collaboration
  • Demonstrated support of stewardship
  • Contribution to UH West Oʻahu’s legacy
  • Measurable impact on UH West Oʻahu culture
  • Measurable impact on UH West Oʻahu community at the local, regional, national, and international level
