Fulbright Visiting Scholar Yerken Turganbayev to discuss regional Kazakhstan economic policy, April 21

This April, UH West Oʻahu welcomes Fulbright Visiting Scholar Yerken Turganbayev to discuss regional economic development and policy in Kazakhstan. All UH West Oʻahu students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to attend this presentation on Thursday, April 21, at 2 p.m. in E243. Yerken Turganbayev

Yerken Turganbayev is the director of the Institute of Post University Training and New Educational Technologies at East Kazakhstan State Technical University. He received a PhD in economics at Robert Gordon University in the United Kingdom and a PhD in mathematics at Novosibirsk State University in Russia. Turganbayev’s research interests are the application of mathematical modeling approaches to various problems in economics and environment protection. He is currently a visiting scholar at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard University.
