Dr. Joseph Bariyanga runs to 69th place finish in Honolulu Marathon

Dr. Joseph Bariyanga celebrates while crossing the finish line at the Honolulu Marathon on Sunday, Dec. 13.

UH West Oʻahu Associate Professor of Chemistry Joseph Bariyanga competed in his first Honolulu Marathon on Sunday, Dec. 13 and finished with the impressive time of 3 hours, 3 minutes and 27 seconds. This amazing time qualifies Dr. Bariyanga to compete in the 2017 Boston Marathon. He was first in his age group and took 69th place overall out of more than 21,000 finishers in Sunday’s race. Congratulations, Dr. Bariyanga!
