Start the new year and new semester by making your health a top priority!

UH West Oʻahu and IMWEST have several intramural sports, fitness, and wellness offerings during the spring semester, including the opportunity to play in basketball or dodge ball leagues.

Participating in sports has a positive influence in many areas, said Ryan Perreira, UH West Oʻahuʻs coordinator of the Intramural Sports Program, Fitness and Wellness.

“It supports positive mental health and improves social skills along with promoting physical health,” Perreira said. “Participation in sports develops healthy living habits that provide physical benefits, such as developing coordination.”

Other benefits include reduced level of anxiety and depression, improved mind concentration and personal moods, and an opportunity to socialize – and have fun!
