UH West O’ahu insurance club hosts info session and light snacks, Nov. 21

What is the University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu Beta Upsilon Chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS) insurance club? Find out at an information session – 3:30 to 5 p.m. Nov. 21 at D-150 – which will cover who and what GIS is, what “Risk Management and Insurance” is, club events and opportunities, and more.

The insurance club promotes a close connection between members and Hawaiʻiʻs insurance industry and community, and encourages professional growth among members and officers in leadership roles.

It also encourages collaboration among members to work towards the common goal of gaining knowledge on the insurance industry and benefits filtered from a career in insurance, and provides support for the Certificate in Risk Management and Insurance faculty and students on curriculum and educational goals.

Among the benefits of joining the club: scholarships, internship opportunities, campus and community events, Risk Management and Insurance company tours, resume and interview workshops, and talk story sessions.

Learn more at the clubʻs information session, which includes light snacks. For questions or to RSVP, contact Monique Sylva at ms39@hawaii.edu or Josiah Ocreto at jocreto@hawaii.edu.
