Summer closures, schedule changes for services at UH West Oʻahu

Update, June 6: The UH West O‘ahu Bookstore will be closed June 21 and July 4 – 5. It will reopen on July 8.

Update, May 20: The Nāulu Fitness Center will be closed June 20 – July 4. It will reopen on July 8.

Please note the following summer closures and other schedule changes for services at the University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu:


UH West O‘ahu Bookstore is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to noon Friday. Click here for more info.


UH West O‘ahu Dining Hall, operated by Da Spot Health Foods & Juices, is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.


831 Cafe, the coffee shop in the Academy for Creative Media building, is closed until Tuesday, Sept. 3.


Mail summer schedule is as follows: On-campus mail runs are Monday through Friday (once a day), May 13 until Aug. 16. Mānoa mail runs are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (once a day), May 13 until Aug. 16.


James & Abigail Campbell Library is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 6 through May 10 to accommodate other campuses’ finals week schedules. The library is closed to the public May 13 through May 17 for special projects. The library reopens May 20 for summer sessions 1 and 2; hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday until the start of the fall semester.

The library opens Aug. 26 for the fall semester; hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Click here for more info.


UHWO IT Help Desk is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until Aug. 23. The help desk is closed on state holidays. Click here for more info.


UH West O‘ahu Mental Health Services remains open throughout the summer, but is closed on state holidays. All enrolled students may access free and confidential mental health services during and between semesters. Please email uhwotalk@hawaii.edu to make an appointment. Click here for more info.


Nāulu Center is open 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. The center is closed on Wednesdays. Click here for more info.


Nāulu Fitness Center summer hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday starting May 20. The fitness center is closed on Fridays and will also be closed June 20 through July 4. The fitness center is open the following days: May 20 – 30; June 1 – 19; July 8 – 31; and Aug. 5 – 15. Schedules are subject to change.

Fitness center appointments are made in STAR Balance. To make an appointment:

1. Log in to STAR Balance.
2. Expand Health & Wellness on the left.
3. Select Naulu Fitness Center.
4. Expand Workout Types & Staff.
5. Select Fitness Workout.
6. Select the desired time on the right side.
7. Click Submit.

No‘eau Center is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (B-203 and Zoom). When the library is closed, students can call 808-689-2750 for access. Click here for more info.


Please also note the following campus work throughout the summer:

Information Technology:

  • AV equipment is being replaced in laboratory classrooms. IT is upgrading the laboratory classrooms to digital connections to match what is in the regular classrooms. The project will start after spring semester finals and should be completed by the end of this year.
  • The IT Help Desk is performing a technology inventory. The IT Help Desk will be conducting a visual confirmation of all UH West O‘ahu technology including grant equipment. The IT Help Desk will contact everyone to schedule a time to check on their technology.
  • IT Help Desk is conducting two routine upgrades of all classroom computers. In the early summer, they will be upgrading software like Zoom to prepare for summer courses. The second upgrade will happen right before school starts in August to prepare for the fall semester.

Planning and Facilities:

  • Building C, C-226: commence construction upon building permit issuance
  • Road/Parking Lot: reseal and perform various improvements
  • Building B, B-155: install 16-foot whiteboard
  • Building B, B-137 (‘Ulu‘ulu): replace exterior door
