UH West Oʻahu’s Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Management program has been ranked the fifth-best online degrees in emergency management for 2018.

Best Degree Programs reviewed about 210 colleges and universities offering online bachelor’s degrees in emergency management and ranked only four colleges and universities as having better online offerings in the subject.

“University of Hawaii’s online emergency management programs include the online bachelor’s in public administration with a concentration in disaster preparedness and emergency management.” the site noted. “All courses meet the national standards set forth by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and FEMA.”

UH West Oʻahu’s Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management program provides students with a broad range of administrative skills and knowledge that are ideally suited to meet the critical needs of emergency management administrators. Students may pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration with a concentration in disaster preparedness & emergency management or a certificate in Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Management.

Courses for the bachelor’s degree and certificate are offered through in-class and distance-learning instruction. The disaster preparedness and emergency management concentration is the only upper division disaster management program in the State of Hawaiʻi.
