UH West Oʻahu student Pearlena Stone is a recipient of a University of Hawaiʻi Federal Credit Union scholarship for 2017-2018.
Stone, who is studying health care administration, was one of five students who were awarded the $2,000 UHFCU scholarships recently. The other four students who received scholarships attend UH Mānoa.
Applicants for the scholarship must be UHFCU members or have family who are members. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic achievement, leadership, and community service.
“It is inspiring to see the quality and amount of talented, driven and deserving young people who apply for our scholarships each year,” said UHFCU President and Chief Executive Officer Jeanine Morse. “It’s been a tremendous challenge for our scholarship committee to select our recipients from a pool of such outstanding students.”
UHFCU service the faculty, staff, students and alumni association members of the University of Hawaiʻi system. One of the credit union’s four locations is located on the UH West Oʻahu campus.
