UH West Oʻahu’s Business Division accredited by Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs

The University of Hawaiʻi – West Oʻahu Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration program has been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs  Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners.

Established in 1988, ACBSP is the only organization offering specialized business accreditation for all degree levels, from associate to baccalaureate to doctoral degree programs. ACBSP accreditation certifies that the teaching and learning processes within the Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration programs meet the rigorous educational standards established by ACBSP.

“The business division worked diligently in meeting all of the high standards required for accreditation with the ACBSP,” Business Administration Division chair Derrek Choy said. “This  accreditation assures each student in the UH West Oʻahu business program that they are receiving the highest level of educational training for their career success in their chosen profession.”

UH West Oʻahu’s concentrations in AccountingFinanceGeneral Business AdministrationManagementMarketing, and Hospitality and Tourism are all accredited by ACBSP.

“Our Business Division faculty have worked diligently over the years to provide students with the very best concentrations from accounting to hospitality to risk management and more,” UH West Oʻahu Chancellor Maenette Benham said. “The ACBSP council highlighted the strength of quality across our business programs. identified excellence in teaching approaches, and commended the faculty for preparing 21st Century Leaders.”

Based on the Baldridge Education Criteria for Performance Excellence, ACBSP accreditation evaluates aspects of leadership, strategic planning, relationships with stakeholders, quality of academic programs, faculty credentials, and educational support to determine whether or not the business programs offers a rigorous educational experience and demonstrate continuous quality improvement.

“University of Hawaiʻi — West Oʻahu has shown their commitment to teaching excellence and to the process of quality improvement by participating in the accreditation process,” said ACBSP Chief Accreditation Officer Steve Parscale. “This accreditation is evidence that University of Hawaiʻi — West Oʻahu is committed to providing the highest quality business education for their students.”
