Sarah Glancy will discuss underwater volcano exploration and the studies of the submarine Mata Volcanoes during this interesting Math+Science+x seminar “Fire and Water – Volcanoes in the Sea.” More than 90% of volcanic activity on earth happens below the ocean’s surface. These volcanoes are very difficult to study and therefore not as understood as volcanoes that erupt on land. Learn about these amazing submarine volcanoes on Friday, Nov. 6 in E243 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. All UH West Oʻahu students, faculty, staff and the community are encouraged to attend.
