Spacesaver High Density Eclipse Powered Mobile Storage System

The UH West Oʻahu ʻUluʻulu Henry K. Giugni Moving Image Archive of Hawaiʻi recently completed construction of a vault equipped with the largest powered mobile storage system in the state with more than 5,189 linear filing feet. That’s a mile of shelving! This new system helps the archive fulfill its mission to preserve, protect and make accessible Hawaiʻi’s moving image heritage recorded on the tens of thousands of videotapes and motion picture film reels in the archive’s care. View the ‘ʻUluʻulu A Mile of Shelves’ blog post to see photos of the vault and a time lapse video of the construction. ʻUluʻulu staff will begin storing archive materials in the new mobile storage system in the weeks and months ahead.
