Discussion of ʻonipaʻa kicks off speaker series on Jan. 22

A discussion of the meaning of the word ʻonipaʻa (fixed movement) in relation to aloha ʻāina and mana lāhui will kick off the ʻOnipaʻa speaker series this semester at ʻOnipaʻa: Aloha ʻĀina, an event to be held 12:30 p.m. Jan. 22, in the Nāulu Center.

The discussion features speakers Dr. Leilani Basham, former professor of Hawaiian-Pacific Studies at UH West Oʻahu, now at UH Mānoa, and Dr. Kalikolani Correa, assistant professor of Hawaiian Studies at UH West Oʻahu.

The ʻOnipaʻa speaker series is sponsored by the Hawaiian-Pacific Studies, History, and Political Science departments; ʻUluʻulu Moving Image Archive; and the James & Abigail Campbell Library.
