Veteran students, alumni and faculty at the University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu will be celebrated for their military service in honor of Veterans Day at a Veteran Alumni/Student Luncheon and Honor Walk on Nov. 13. (The campus will be closed on the actual holiday on Nov. 11.)

The honor walk will be 11 to 11:45 a.m. and is open to all, regardless of military connection. Participants will meet 11 a.m. on the left side of E building and will walk around campus (walk starts 11:30 a.m.), proudly displaying our nation’s colors and representing each branch.

Following the walk will be a pizza luncheon, noon to 2 p.m. at the Veterans Empowered Through STEM (V.E.T.S.) lab/lounge in E-135. The luncheon is reserved for veteran/military staff, students, alumni and faculty.

The recently opened V.E.T.S. lounge provides veteran and active duty military students on campus a place to mingle and work on course projects, as well as learn about available resources, both STEM and non-STEM. Approximately 10% of UH West Oʻahu’s students identify as veteran or active duty military.

RSVP by Nov. 8 via email at uhwovets@hawaii.edu and indicate if you will participate in the honor walk or just attend the luncheon.

The event is presented by the V.E.T.S. Center, in partnership with the UH West Oʻahu Alumni ʻOhana.
